HIRAYA: Kinder to Grade 6 Parents' Orientation
Mandaluyong City, September 10, 2023 - Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) in Mandaluyong City welcomed parents and guardians warmly during the "Hiraya: Abutin ang Mithiin" Parents' Orientation for the Basic Education Sector (BES). The event took place on Sunday, September 10, 2023, with separate sessions for Kinder to Grade 3 students from 8:00 am to 11:30 am and Grade 4 to 6 students from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
The theme of "Hiraya: Abutin ang Mithiin," which translates to "Imagination: Reach for Your Dreams" in English, served as the guiding light for this year's Parents' Orientation at Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC). This theme encapsulates the school's commitment to nurturing not just the academic growth of its students but also their dreams, aspirations, and creative potential. It encourages both parents and students to dream big and strive for excellence in all aspects of their education journey. The day began with a solemn Holy Mass held at the Saint John Bosco Chapel at 8:00 am. This set the tone for a day filled with valuable information and insights for parents and guardians of DBTC's young Bosconians.
Following the Mass, registration for the orientation took place at the Gesù Adolescente Gymnasium, commencing at 9:00 am for the morning session and 1:00 pm for the afternoon session. The gymnasium buzzed with excitement as parents gathered to participate in this important event.
At 9:30 am for the morning session and 1:30 pm for the afternoon session, parents and guardians were ushered into the gymnasium and then into the classrooms for the Parents' Orientation. The event aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the policies and procedures that would be implemented throughout the academic year. DBTC's dedicated faculty and staff from the Basic Education Sector were present to address any queries and provide insights into the school's educational approach.
DBTC School Administration graced the occasion, led by Fr. Ronilo A. Javines, SDB, the Rector and President, and Fr. Marc Will Lim, SDB, the Vice President for Administration. Their presence underscored the significance of the orientation in building a strong partnership between the school and parents.
The Parents' Orientation also saw the participation of personnel and department heads from the Administration Department, as well as representatives from the Offices for Pastoral Affairs and Student Services. This collective effort ensured that parents received a holistic understanding of the school's mission and the resources available to support their children's development.
The day concluded with another Holy Mass at 3:30 pm, offering parents and guardians a moment for reflection and spiritual connection.
