More About Pamaskong Handog 2023
Project Overview
The angel said “For today in the city of David, a savior has been born for you, who is Messiah and Lord” (Lk 2:11). In simplicity, Jesus showed the meaning and value of Christmas. People are now busy preparing for their Christmas celebration because December 25, 2023, is just around the corner. This season is not just a reminder of the fulfillment of material things and the best gifts that one can receive. But rather, the birthday celebrant, Jesus, He is the reason. He is the Christmas. He is the Word made flesh. He is the gift that all of us received.
The EPC of Don Bosco Technical College is taking its role as a sharer of God’s love to all, especially the needy. They will share their light, life, and love of Jesus with those who are least, lost, and last. They will join together to complete 150-200 Pamaskong Handog packages that will be offered during Holy Mass from the month of November 6 to December 14, 2023. December 17, 2023, is the day to celebrate with our adopted community in Gesu Adolescente Gymnasium to share the warmth of love that the Salesian Community provided for those in need.
Rationale & Objectives
“Jesus was born in a humble stable, into a poor family” (CCC, 525).
God shared his only begotten Son. God showed us how to live in love and for love. We are also called to love and to share in the society that is slowly drifting away from the very core of the celebration. Christmas is the mystery of this "marvelous exchange” (CCC 526) We are bound to be sharers in the Divinity of Christ who humbled Himself to share our humanity.
The Pamaskong Handog aims to embody the spirit of Christmas through voluntary gift-giving and deep strengthening of COLLABORATION, FAITH, and SERVICE between the Educative Pastoral Community and the adopted communities of Don Bosco Technical College.
At the end of this activity, the EPC should be able to:
Embody pastoral charity with joy and optimism.
Promote the Salesian spirit and charism of volunteerism
Strengthen the relationship of EPC and the community
surrounding them.
