DBTC-SHS Partnered with DOST on a survey about the Awareness towards Biotechnology and Biosafety Education

MANDALUYONG CITY, September 09, 2024–

Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)’s Roderick Flores Hall was the main venue for the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) survey on the Awareness towards Biotechnology and Biosafety Education of Senior High School (SHS) students in the Philippines. DBTC was the only private school in the National Capital Region that participated in the study. The event was anchored on Strategic Goal 6 which aims to build a research culture in the SHS Program.

A total of 65  SHS Bosconians  from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand were randomly selected by the researchers for this survey. The survey aimed to immerse the students into an actual data gathering procedure which is a fundamental part of the research process.

The survey is a six-page long document consisting of questions regarding biotechnology and its subconcepts and topics. Bosconians accomplished the survey with all their best to contribute to the study. This partnership aligns with DBTC’s mission to form competent, innovative, and upright leaders by actively participating in technological advancements and sustainable solutions for societal development.
