Celebrating Fr. Rector and the EPC, Together!
Today, June 14, 2024, DBTC celebrated the 57th birthday of our Rector, Fr. Ronilo Basilio Javines, SDB, and Educative Pastoral Community Day with the theme “Together, We Get There: The Dreams and Aspirations of DBTC.” This celebration is deeply rooted in the foundation that the Rector is the head of every Salesian House, embodying the spirit of “Don Bosco in our midst.” It provides an opportunity to express gratitude for the many sacrifices made by the Rector by strengthening bonds, celebrating shared values, and renewing our collective commitment to the education and evangelization of young people.
The day began with the Mañanita, an early morning serenade to honor Fr. Javey on his birthday. The Salesian Educators participated in a Fun Run around the school campus, followed by the Opening Ceremony of the Rector’s Cup in the Gesu Adolescente Gymnasium. Next came the felicitations, a tradition where groups of Salesian Educators visit the Rector to greet him with songs and speeches. The height of the celebration is the Holy Mass in the Saint John Bosco Chapel.
The Eucharistic Celebration was made more special. Aside from being the most fitting celebration for the gift of life of our Rector and the source of vitality of the EPC, the community witnessed the renewal of the religious profession of Cl. Anthony Rodriguez, SDB. His continued YES to the call of God is a testament to the fatherly care of Fr. Rector and the support of the community to this young Salesian Brother Assistant.
After the celebration at the table of the Lord, the community gathered again at the Gesu Adolescente Gymnasium for lunch and program.
