Distribution of Tool Kits Marks Milestone in TESDA STEP 2022 Program
Mandaluyong City, October 4, 2023 - Today, a significant event unfolded at the College Audio-Visual Room (AVR) as the TESDA Scholarship Training for Employment Program (STEP) reached a pivotal juncture. At 10:00 am, Lee Chan, Program Officer on STEP Scholarship from the Office of Congressman Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales, presided over the distribution of tool kits to deserving trainees.
The STEP program, a vital income-generating initiative, aims to provide skills training to the residents of Mandaluyong, particularly those facing difficulties securing employment to sustain their livelihoods. This inclusive program welcomes participants aged 15 to 59 years old, with preference given to individuals currently unemployed.
In a collaborative effort between the Office of Congressman Gonzales and TESDA District PaMaMariSan, Don Bosco Technical College TVET took the lead by launching the program in July 2022, successfully training 62 eager participants in Batch 1 to 3.
The distribution of tool kits marked an essential milestone in this program. These tool kits, generously provided by sponsors in agreement with the trainees, will be instrumental in helping the graduates apply their newfound skills effectively.
Ms. Lee Chan, Chief of Staff of Congressman Gonzales, represented the esteemed Congressman during this momentous occasion, emphasizing the commitment of the office to empower the local community through such initiatives.
As we celebrate this achievement, the journey continues with the upcoming Batch 4, set to commence their training next week. The STEP program remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for the residents of Mandaluyong, offering a pathway to employment and self-sufficiency.
